According to the USDA, U.S. Gulf vessel loading activity declined to record low levels throughout the first week of Sep ’21, prior to partially rebounding throughout the three most recent weeks of available data. Early Sep ’21 declines in Gulf vessel loading activity were partially attributed to incomplete data associated with Hurricane Ida. Weekly U.S. Gulf vessel loading figures have been compiled by the USDA since 1995.

Sep 23^rd week ending U.S. Gulf vessel loading activity rebounded to a four week high level but remained 20.8% below previous year levels. U.S. Gulf vessel loadings due the next ten days remained 13.1% below previous year levels as of the week ending Sep 23^rd, finishing below previous year levels for the eighth consecutive week.
