A total of 68% of the corn crop was in good or excellent condition as of the week ending Aug 26^th, unchanged from the previous week but raised one percent within the ‘excellent’ condition category. 12% of the corn crop was identified as in poor or very poor condition, unchanged from the previous week. The current seasonal good-to-excellent corn conditions of 68% finished slightly above the five year average of 67.6% but remained below the good-to-excellent conditions experienced throughout 2014, 2015 and 2016. A total of 66% of the soybean crop was in good or excellent condition as of the week ending Aug 26^th, up one percent from the previous week. 11% of the soybean crop was identified as in poor or very poor condition, unchanged from the previous week. The current seasonal good-to-excellent soybean conditions of 66% finished slightly above the five year average of 65% but remained below the good-to-excellent conditions experienced throughout 2014 and 2016.
